There are several known issues when dealing with Hatch. Some occur during installation, and others occur based on your browser settings. Note: “Hatch executable” means the desktop application – NOT the browser extension.
Note: Your workstation, even if it “disappears” is still registered in Evergreen and should still have your saved configurations. You can re-register the same workstation name to retrieve those settings.
Here’s a few issues that might result in requiring a new workstation registration.
- Not using the full splash page link.
- It is important to make sure that you are using the full splash page link to log in and access the web client: https://evergreen.lib.in.us/eg2/eg-US/staff/splash
- Not all of the areas within the web client will show “eg2” in the URL because not all areas have been updated (angularized). You will still see “eg/staff” links within the circulation module and other areas.
- ‘When using Hatch, navigating to the “/eg2/staff” link will remove all registrations. This does not occur when not using Hatch.

- Additionally, using a “/eg/staff” link may randomly cause the workstation to no longer be registered. Try refreshing the page or access another area of the web client.
- Sometimes opening the web client from a desktop shortcut (link) will fail to connect to Hatch which causes the workstations list to disappear. We recommend either
- Disabling the Hatch extension.
- Anytime the Hatch extension is disabled, Chrome will no longer believe the workstation is registered. Based on our tests, however, re-enabling the Hatch extension will bring back any registered workstations.

- Bug 2091191 (Retrieved from the Evergreen Community Launchpad site)
- Bug #2091191 “Opening splash page in new tab results in workstat…” : Bugs : Evergreen
- When Hatch is installed, when right clicking and selecting “Open link in new tab” to open the splash page, Chrome will no longer believe the the workstation is registered. Interestingly enough, the previous tab will still be registered.
- We have confirmed this bug also affects Evergreen Indiana.
The following are known issues that might cause a white screen.
- Multiple Chrome Profiles
- Logging into or out of Chrome profiles can cause white screen issues with Evergreen. Fixing this may require remove any existing Chrome profiles and fully clearing any browser data and reregistering the workstation.
- We recommend using a single Chrome profile (if using one at all).
