Introduction
Aspen Discovery is a fully-featured, open source discovery system with option to provide comprehensive access to your library’s resources. It gives patrons a single search box and smart search results that group all formats of a title together, allowing patrons easy access to their preferred version whether traditional or digital.
In 2024, the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium contracted with Equinox Open Library Initiative to bring Aspen Discovery to all of our member libraries. Each library now has its own Aspen Catalog in addition to the traditional Evergreen Indiana OPAC experience. These Aspen catalogs are linked on the Member Library page. These catalogs are meant to be customized by locally library staff with assistance from Evergreen Indiana administrative staff and peer library workers. Library workers may have their supervisors request they have administrative access by filling out this form. Please be aware that request access begins a process and does not signify immediate access. Requests will be addressed within 48 business hours unless there are extenuating circumstances.
Training Materials
To help local Aspen administrators, a wide range of training materials are available. Some of those materials are listed here.
- EquinoxEDU Aspen Discovery Training Materials
- Aspen Discovery Help Center
- Please note that this is not specific to Evergreen so there will be some information about integrations to other ILS. Additionally, this is provided and maintained by ByWater Solutions, another Aspen provider.
- CSS and JavaScript Code Library – for more advanced users with some web design knowledge.
