Many Evergreen Indiana libraries contract with third-party software vendors for products that need to connect with the Evergreen Indiana ILS to work. Oftentimes, in order to verify certain types of information, an Evergreen Indiana member library will require a SIP user account. SIP user accounts are special accounts that must be created and configured by Evergreen Indiana staff; they cannot be activated locally. Please contact the Evergreen Indiana Helpdesk for assistance with SIP user accounts.
Some examples of third-party software and/or services that require access to Evergreen Indiana resources are:
- Self-checkout stations including RFID
- PC Time Management Systems that require access to Patron accounts
- E-book providers who need to authenticate against the Evergreen Indiana Patron database
- Remote database authentication (eg. EZ Proxy)
The Evergreen Indiana staff should be consulted during all negotiations with vendors to ensure that their product(s) is compatible with the Evergreen Indiana software and complies with Evergreen Indiana policies if SIP or API access will be required.
