Local administrators may merge local duplicate accounts within the Patron Search interface.
- Use the Patron Search interface to search for all of the accounts to be merged.
- Select the relevant Patron account 2 at a time and click on the Merge Patrons button.
- Compare the accounts and choose the “lead” by clickong on the Lead button.
- Click Merge.
Patrons in Collections #
Accounts that have been sent to collections cannot be merged. Once associated billing has been taken care of by the bill’s owning library but the duplicate accounts still cannot be merged, contact the collections agency. There is a flag on their end that needs to be unchecked in order for the accounts to be mergeable.
NOTE #
Once merged, accounts cannot be unmerged, so please take time to confirm that the accounts are definitely for the same person.
Requesting a Merge of Cross-Library Accounts #
If a Patron has accounts at multiple libraries which should be merged, please submit a completed copy of the Intersystem Patron Merge Form to the HelpDesk. Note that each library at which the Patron has an account should sign off on the form so that it is duly confirmed that the accounts should be merged.
