April 11, 2025 Update
Committee Voting Ballots
On April 9, the Evergreen Indiana Council approved the slate of committee nominees for this year’s committee membership. As per the updated bylaws that were also approved at the council meeting, the nominee slate was emailed to all of the directors on April 10. …
New Item Status for Off Site
The Patron Services Committee approved the addition of a new item status to Evergreen called, “Off Site.” This can be used for those collections that leave your building for library or community events for a period of time and will be visually helpful to frontline staff looking for material in the catalog. Materials using this status can be checked out, are hidden in the OPAC, and are not holdable. Once they are checked in, they will revert to “Reshelving/Available.”
Language for Home Deliveries
The Patron Services Committee approved to modify language in the Circulation Procedures Guide’s “Book Clubs Procedures” section to include procedures for homebound individuals. This should empower libraries, with respect to the procedure, to automatically extend the due date for these outreach individuals. You can compare the old and new language here, and the updated guide here.
Recording for the Annual Council Meeting
For those who wish to review the Annual Council Meeting on April 9, the recording is now available on the Evergreen Indiana YouTube channel. If it has not finished processing yet, please visit the link later.
Aspen Reindex to Begin April 19
We will be updating some library settings within Aspen on Friday, April 18. This will cause a reindex to occur beginning at 2am (ET) on Saturday, April 19, which will temporarily sever the connection between Aspen and Evergreen. This maintenance includes un-hiding non-holdable material for libraries that have requested this be done to their collections. We expect the reindex to take at least 36 hours to complete, but will not know the full extent until after the fact. Once the reindex completes, the Aspen server will restart the paused processes.
