New Procedure for Recording Identification in a Patron’s Account
The Patron Services Committee added new information in the Circulation Procedures Guide about how a library should enter driver’s license information into a patron’s account:
For the protection of patron data and their home library, complete ID (e.g. driver’s licenses) numbers should no longer be entered into a patron profile within the Evergreen ILS.
If a member library chooses to retain a driver’s license number in a patron account, enter the abbreviation of the state that issued the ID and the last four (4) characters of the ID number. There should be no spaces between the state abbreviation and the numbers.
