Evergreen Indiana Weekly Update

We’re sending this update a little early this week! Check out the news and upcoming events below.

Admin Office Closed on July 4th and 5th

The Evergreen Indiana Admin Office will be closed on July 4th and 5th of this week. We will triage any urgent tickets that are submitted to the HelpDesk.

Payment Reconciliation Invoices

The 2024 2nd Quarter invoices are now available via the web client. Payment will be due 35 days after receipt. Please contact Courtney Brown at 317-232-3691 or at cobrown@library.in.gov with any questions.

MessageBee SMS Notices

Over the last few weeks you should have noticed an increase of successful SMS hold notices being sent to patrons. Now that we have switched to MessageBee for text notifications, we should not be seeing anymore throttling from Verizon.

A workflow change to keep in mind is that we no longer need to select a carrier for SMS notifications in a patron account. You will still want to make sure that the SMS option is checked in order to enable that notification type. Google Voice users will now be able to receive texts through Evergreen!

Also, there is a new 3-day courtesy text that is sent to patrons three days before their items are due.

Finally, we want to let you know that the Send Test Text button that appears after a patron account has been established may take up to 30 minutes to actually send the message.

Collection Cleanup! Items with Deposit Amounts Bug

There is a bug with the Deposit item attributes where even if you leave “Is Deposit Required?” set to No and there’s a numerical value in the “Deposit Amount” field other than 0, then a Deposit is required alert will appear upon checkout. There are 193  items in the catalog with this set, so we have created an item bucket for libraries to remove the deposit amount (either Clear or set it to 0.00) so there won’t be an issue checking out the items in the future.

Here is a link to the bug if you’re interested in adding some heat.
