Weekly Update: June 1, 2010

New Members

Evergreen Indiana grew by three last week taking Evergreen Indiana membership to 78 public libraries. Welcome to Morgan County Public Library (Morgan County), Tyson Library Association, Inc. (Ripley County) and Van Buren County Public Library (Grant County). Morgan County Public Library is the first Class A public library to join Evergreen Indiana! The 78 public libraries serve over 791,000 Indiana residents! Migration dates for these libraries will be announced later this week.

Upgrades to Offline Mode

Mike Peters has modified the Offline Module to provide for additional lending periods (e.g., 21 days and all circ modifiers). If you wish to use the upgrades you will need to download a new staff client. This is optional. Mike has submitted a request to have this option rolled into Version 2.0. The information will also be sent to the Evergreen Indiana support list serv:

Libraries can download this OPTIONAL staff client at

Fines & Fees Reminder!

Please remember that you may not waive fines and fees on LOST items that belong to other libraries. All patrons must deal directly with the owning library, not the circulating library. We have had a few instances of libraries waiving processing costs on items that do not belong to them for local patrons. Please have the patron contact the owning library or contact the owning library on the patron’s behalf before taking any action on a patron’s bill.

Teacher Cards

If your library board approves the issuance of Teacher Cards after July 1, please use the “Reciprocal Borrower” profile when issuing the card. The card will be good only at the library that issued the card and may not be used to purchase a PLAC card.
