February 16, 2023
Hello Evergreeners,
The Executive Committee met on Tuesday, February 14 and a LOT of work was done on behalf of the Consortium. Here are some of the highlights.
New Member Library
The Executive Committee voted to approve the application of Pierceton-Washington Township Carnegie Public Library as the 129th public library member of Evergreen Indiana. We are excited about helping this Class C library in Kosciusko County provide excellent library service to their community. We are currently striving toward an August 2023 public launch and will be announcing opportunities to participate in cataloging parties soon.
New Membership Fee Tiers
The Executive Committee voted to adopt the proposed Membership Fee Tiers developed by a working group of member library directors and representatives from the Indiana State Library. Membership fees based on these new tiers will be rolled out in a graduated manner beginning in 2024. The new tiers are percentage based rather than the fixed amounts that previously required an annual vote by the Executive Committee. The new tiers are as follows.
- The percentage multiplier is multiplied by a member library’s Evaluated Annual Operating Expenditure (the lesser of the most recent report year’s operating expenditure or the average of the past five years operating expenditures).
- The implementation percentage fee only applies to new members who join the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium in 2024 and beyond.
Tier | Percentage Multiplier | Max Exp | Exp Step | Implementation Percentage Fee |
1 | 0.000% | $50,000 | $0 | 0.00000% |
2 | 0.700% | $300,000 | $250,000 | 0.17500% |
3 | 0.725% | $1,000,000 | $700,000 | 0.18125% |
4 | 0.750% | $5,000,000 | $4,000,000 | 0.18750% |
5 | 0.800% | $10,000,000 | $5,000,000 | 0.20000% |
6 | 1.000% | $50,000,000 | $40,000,000 | 0.25000% |
