Weekly Update – November 5, 2013

Montpelier Harrison Twp PL Go-Live Day

Quote of the Week

“Being part of EI has also provided a great opportunity to network with other libraries/librarians. Another benefit is the huge cost savings that being part of EI has given us. Multiply those savings with 102 other libraries and the money our Indiana tax payers are saving is incredible!”— Shawn Heaton, Adult Services Supervisor, Alexandria-Monroe Public Library

New and Improved!

The automation of converting patron statuses for expired accounts to inactive began on November 1, 2013. This affected over 350,000 user accounts and will greatly ease reporting and workloads for member libraries.

The new Item Status of “Display” is now live. This new status allows staff to build displays without needing to change the shelving location. On check-in, items with a status of “Display” will be automatically returned to their home locations.

When patrons renew items online, the circulating library now remains the library which originally circulated the item. In the past, the system automatically renewed using the patron’s home library as the library of record.

Intra-Evergreen Indiana Payment Program Live

The Payment Program is now live! Thank you everyone for your patience as we’ve developed the program and as we continue to refine our processes. Our special thanks to the pilot libraries ( Brownstown PL, Hussey-Mayfield Memorial PL, Jackson Co. PL, Jennings Co. PL, Lebanon PL, and Thorntown PL) for all their assistance and feedback. If you have questions, please check with your local contact person or Anna (agoben@library.in.gov).
