Weekly Update – July 12, 2011
Grace periods
Another note about grace periods – As stated in the Weekly Update blog on June 1, 2011, grace periods are not honored in Evergreen 2.0 when using backdating. Please be aware of this issue when backdating check-ins and make sure to forgive the fines. This issue has been reported to the Evergreen International community and Equinox. Equinox has explained the earlier functionality as a bug that voided too much when backdating. That was corrected in 2.0 but because the grace period is not recorded as a parameter in 2.0, there is no way to know when backdating is applying to a grace period and thus ask the system to delete the billing. This issue is being looked into.
Summary of log-in profiles
Below you will find a general discussion of each log-in profile, the training classes required to attain that profile and a loosely-defined library staff equivalent. Permissions are divided into different log-ins to keep functionality and workflows separate across modules. Doing so prevents work from overlapping and is a best practice for managing many users in a consortium. It is good library management practice to realign your staff with the Evergreen Indiana required log-ins below each time there is staff turnover or advancement.
