Hello Evergreeners,

We’ve made it through summer mostly unscathed.

Pierceton Public Library Public Launch

Thank you to everyone who has helped with preparing Pierceton Public Library to launch as the 129th public library member of the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium.  I am excited to announce that we have scheduled their public launch date for Tuesday, November 21.

InfoExpress Courier Transition

Thank you for your immense patience as we get through this.  I appreciate the kindness and grace that have been extended to myself and others who truly are working diligently on behalf of your libraries.  ISL staff continue to meet with NOW staff at least twice a week.  If you have questions or comments about how your library might need to adjust workflows with holds and transits as NOW brings their service up to full speed, don’t hesitate to email coordinator@evergreenindiana.org.  If there are issues with InfoExpress, please make sure to continue emailing those to infoexpress@library.in.gov. This is essential in issue tracking.

LibraryIQ Training

Thank you to everyone who attended the sessions led by Molly Mansfield of LibraryIQ.  If you would like to view the recordings for these sessions, please use the links below.

EquinoxEDU Tutorial – Batch Loading Records in Evergreen

As support customers of Equinox Open Library Initiative, Evergreen Indiana member libraries also have free access from time to time to classes offered as part of their EquinoxEDU initiative.  On November 16, at 1:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. CT, there will be a tutorial on Batch Loading Records in Evergreen.  If you are interested in participating, please contact coordinator@evergreenindiana.org to receive a link to the registration as well as a discount code for free registration.

Aspen Discovery Service

An informational session to kick off the implementation of the Aspen Discovery Service for Evergreen Indiana is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4 at 1 p.m. ET/12 p.m. CT.  This will be primarily a time to let libraries know what to expect during this process and answer questions.  If you have not already requested a link to this meeting, please email coordinator@evergreenindiana.org, and I’ll send you that information.  Additionally, if you haven’t already done so,  please help us gather information about digital services provided by your library using this survey.

2024 Regional User Group Site Proposals

In the fall of 2024, the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium will sponsor several regional user group meetings around the State of Indiana.  These user group meetings give staff members of Evergreen Indiana member libraries the opportunity to gather with their consortium colleagues for discussion and learning.  Regional User Group meetings occur on a biennial basis alternating with the Evergreen Indiana Conference.  If you would like your library to serve as a host for one of these meetings, please fill out this form.  We will be accepting site proposals through March 2023, but wanted to get a head start on the process for those libraries that might require board approval or other considerations.

Updates to Circulation Policy

  • Updated language to reflect Library Card standards
  • Added language referring to Junior and Junior Limited Access profile types
  • Updated language concerning the refunding of monies for Lost and then found materials.
  • Updated language referring to identity verification for account creation and renewal.
