July 20, 2022

As I was adding content to this newsletter, I thought about starting it with “this is a short update.”  Then I realized, it’s not that short.  I hope your “summer vacations” have been great (ie. I hope you’ve enjoyed summer reading).

Library Card Buying Pool

The library card buying pool continues through July 24. More information including the order form is located in the calendar at https://evergreenindiana.org as well as in the FAQ section of the website.  Please note that you can submit orders for barcodes at any time during the year.  You can also submit orders for library cards before the buying pool opens.  They will be processed during the pool period.

Welcome!

Britta Dorsey is IN THE BUILDING (Indiana State Library, that is).  Britta has hit the ground running, and we are excited to have her as part of the Evergreen Indiana administrative team.  Britta will be gradually taking on more and more of the training responsibilities for our consortium among other things.  You can reach Britta directly at bdorsey@library.in.gov or (317) 234-6624.

Retirement

Bob Jackson has been with Evergreen Indiana and the Indiana State Library for over ten years.  We are both very sad to see him go and so excited for his next chapter in life.  Bob’s final day will be Friday, August 26.  Please take the time to fill out his virtual retirement card here.

Regional User Group Meetings

Previously called “regional roundtables,” 2022 Evergreen Indiana Regional User Group meetings will be held this autumn, at locations around the state of Indiana to make it easier for staff at member libraries to attend.  Announcements about topics, locations, and dates will be available soon.  Thank you to those libraries who submitted site proposals to host the user groups.  You’ll be hearing from me soon.

Member Library Spotlight Submissions

Want to show the cool things that are happening in your library? Use the linked form to share something exciting about your library.  Spotlights will appear on a regular basis in the newsletter (look for spotlights on Greensburg-Decatur County PL, West Lafayette PL, and Pike Co. PL coming soon!) as well as https://evergreenindiana.org. You are also highly encouraged to send related photographs to rfrasur@library.in.gov with the subject line [your library] EI Member Library Spotlight.

Upcoming Events

Please check out the calendar at https://evergreenindiana.org to see when upcoming training sessions are scheduled and find registration links. Also find links to join Evergreen Indiana committee meetings.
