Troubleshooting page on Weekly Update blog

You will notice a new page named Troubleshooting on the top of the Evergreen Indiana Weekly Update blog. This page will serve as an active list of bugs that have been reported to the helpdesk by the Evergreen Indiana community and suggested fixes to those bugs.

Policy additions approved by the Executive Committee:

1)      Circulation policies document

Evergreen Indiana Library Card, page 1

“An Evergreen Indiana library card is required in order to check out materials at an Evergreen Indiana Library.  A digital replica of the library card is also an appropriate form of identification for a patron to check out materials. Patrons of the Evergreen Indiana Consortium libraries presenting the Proper Identification are eligible to receive an Evergreen Indiana library card from their home library subject to certain limitations (see below, Loss of Privileges).  An Evergreen Indiana library card is not transferable to another user.”

2)      Circulation procedures document

Overdue Notices, page 7. This statement appears at the end of the overdue notices discussion.

“Records of lost materials should not be deleted from the catalog until six months after the 45 day overdue notice is sent.  If an item is not recovered six months after the 45 day notice is sent to a patron, library staff may delete the record from the Evergreen Indiana catalog.”

Patron Merges

A patron merge can only occur if both libraries consent. That means that the home library must begin filling out the patron merge paperwork, send the paperwork to the other library, receive authorization from the other library in the form of contact name and information, and send all the compiled information in a spreadsheet to Michael Peters (mrpeters@library.in.gov).  The key thing to remember is that the home library must receive authorization from the other library before they send the patron merge form to the Helpdesk.

You can find more information and the Patron Merge Form at Evergreen Indiana -> Resources for Member Libraries -> Operational Materials and Resources:
