Weekly Update: March 14, 2011

2.0 Upgrade

Reminders:

  1. As we prepare for the migration to 2.0, we ask that you log off of Evergreen completely at the end of the day Friday (3/18/11).   Libraries will need to use the offline client to check out materials Saturday and Sunday.  Plan to stay in Offline Mode on Monday UNTIL you receive the email from Evergreen Indiana staff letting you know it’s okay to log on to Evergreen 2.0.
  2. The link to the latest supported staff client will be sent to the Evergreen Indiana Support Listserv when the final version is available, and will be included in the Evergreen Indiana Blog for easy reference.  Once posted, the library’s local administrator may begin downloading the staff client to the staff computers. Do not download the 2.0.3 version, as this may not be the final version released before our upgrade.
  3. While the servers are down, and you are operating in offline, note that this means that SIP connections (for OverDrive, PC Reservation, etc.) will also be down. We apologize for this inconvience.
  4. When the upgrade is complete, sometime Monday (3/21/11), all four Evergreen Indiana listservs will receive notification that local administrators may begin registering the workstations and staff may begin using the 2.0 staff client.

Evergreen 2.0 Features – Miscellaneous

Technical Bulletin:  System Offline 3/14/2011, 9:45PM – approximately 2 hours

There will be a planned Evergreen Indiana maintenance window this evening (Monday, March 14, 2011) beginning at 9:45PM and lasting approximately 2 hours.  During this time, the OPAC, SIP, and Overdrive services will be unavailable.  The outage is to apply an emergency Operating System patch required in advance of our upgrade to Evergreen 2.0.  We apologize for the late notice, and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please make all staff aware of this notice if they are not subscribed to the Support List.

Finally, should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to open a Helpdesk ticket via the staff client.
