TECHNICAL BULLETIN – February 23, 2011
A TECHNICAL BULLETIN was released today that affects all member libraries:
Beginning promptly at 9:45PM EST Wednesday, 2/23/2011 Evergreen Indiana will be unavailable for a period of up to 4 hours for an emergency hardware replacement on the database server. This work will occur after closing time for all libraries, so no action is required, however patrons attempting to search the catalog from home after 9:45PM will see a message that Evergreen Indiana is in maintenance mode.
We expect service to be restored in the early hours of Thursday, 2/24/2011.
We apologize for the late notice and for any inconvenience this may cause to your patrons who need to access the catalog during late evening hours.
Executive Committee Minutes – December Meeting
As previously announced, the Evergreen Indiana Executive Committee held a meeting on February 22, 2011. The minutes for the December 14, 2010 meeting were approved and have been posted on the Evergreen Indiana Governance page.
2011 Evergreen Indiana Annual Members’ Meeting and Conference
The next annual meeting of the Evergreen Indiana consortium will be held on May 6, 2011, location TBA. Mark your calendars now!

OverDrive Committee – Policies
The OverDrive sub-committee of the Evergreen Indiana Executive Committee met for the first time on February 15, 2011.
NOTE: The Executive Committee approved the the following recommendations of the OverDrive sub-committee at their meeting on February 22, 2011.
These policies will remain in place for current and new member libraries participating in OverDrive via the eIndiana Digital Consortium:
- Loan duration is 7 or 14 days, selected by the user at checkout
- Each user may have 3 items checked out at one time
- Each user may have 3 active holds at one time
- Each user has 3 days to pick up a hold once it becomes available
The following policy change will become effective March 1, 2011:
- The eIndiana Digital Consortium will restrict user access based on Evergreen Indiana circulation rules:
- No access for reciprocal borrowers
- No access for blocked users
OverDrive – Quarterly Sign-Up Dates
Members interested in signing up for OverDrive in 2011 should observe the following schedule. Contact Jason (jfields [at] library.in.gov) or Wendy (wknapp [at] library.in.gov) for details.

Four registered participants are required to hold a training session. If there are not at least four people registered, the session will be canceled.

2012 Evergreen International Conference – Volunteers Needed
