Outbound Calling

Outbound calls to alert patrons that holds are available will begin Monday, July 26, 2010.  Evergreen Indiana will automatically call patrons who have holds on the hold shelf.

Please note that the patrons can update their accounts to only receive holds notices via email by logging into “My Account.”  It is up to the patron to decide how they will be notified of holds.

The patrons will select the number they want to have called when they place the hold.  When the library runs the “Failed Calls Report,” they can determine if the phone number is bad, and if they should use another number to personally call the patron.

Thanks again to Niles Ingalls, Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library, for creating the program, Mike Peters, Indiana State Library, for creating the reports, and Rick Deuschle, Hussey-Mayfield Memorial Public Library for creating the documentation.  And thank you to Ed Kellar of Jennings County Public Library for sharing the modified sign for alerting patrons.

Notices

  • Remember that the 45 day notices and damaged notices are generated at the circulating library.  The language of the notices has been updated to include a sentence directing the patron to contact the library for billing information.
  • Also remember that running the “lost” report will include all the materials that have been lost by the owning library, regardless of the circulating library.
  • The 45 Day Notices are now available from your overdue/damaged notices link.  Just go to the same link, and if there are any 45 Day notices to be printed, they will appear with the other PDF files.
