Weekly Update — December 27, 2016
Authority Control Now Live!
The updated bibliographic records and authority records were uploaded over the holiday weekend, and the cataloging restrictions have been lifted. 2,385,827 bibliographic records were updated, and we brought in 910,861 associated authority records! Lexile measures were added to 118,448 bibliographic records. Special thanks go out to Jocelyn Lewis for serving as the procurement agent and project manager and Jason Boyer for coordinating the configuration and data transfers!
Our next steps will begin in January as the linking (automatic updating) and validation is brought online. We are also scheduling an early spring cataloging roundtable to demonstrate how member libraries can add and update authority elements on records. Thanks to everyone for your patience!
Holiday Closure
The Indiana State Library will be closed December 31, 2016-January 2, 2017. During that time EI support staff will only be available in case of emergency. INfoExpress service will also be suspended on those dates. We wish you a very happy holiday season!
Maintenance Notices
The next Evergreen software upgrade has been scheduled for December 31, 2016-January 1, 2017. All library access to the database will be suspended during that window. Please check out the Upgrade 2.11 webpage for instructions and training information.
Deadlines
Registration is now open for the 2017 Evergreen International Annual Conference, and the conference committee is soliciting presentation proposals through January 13, 2016.
