Committee News
The Patron Services Committee met at 10am on December 15, 2015 at the Greenwood Public Library. Policy and procedural recommendations were issued for a New Adult “Clean Slate” procedure, a pilot fine-free library program, and several updates to the Circulation Matrix. The first two chapters of the Circulation Training manual have been updated and approved for release by the committee and may be viewed on the Manuals page. The committee will next meet on March 15, 2016 at Mooresville Public Library. The committee meeting recording is available for review on YouTube.
Committee meetings are open to the public, and member libraries are encouraged to send staff to contribute to the conversation!
Upgrade News
The consortium will upgrade to Evergreen version 2.9 over the New Years weekend! We are actively testing the 2.9 interface in preparation for the upgrade! Please check out the instructions released to the Support listserv to participate in testing and visit the project page for support and training documents!
Group Purchase: Wowbrary
It’s time to renew your subscription or join the Wowbrary purchasing group! They’ll be accepting new participants through the end of 2015. Wowbrary builds a report of your library’s recent acquisitions and builds and distributes a newsletter to your patrons. Newsletters may be enhanced with other local information, such as programs, closures, and community celebrations. Interested libraries should contact Jeff Levinsky (jeff@wowbrary.org) as soon as possible.
Deadlines
- SRCS ballots are now available. Please continue to research the project, speak with your Executive Committee representative, and ask any questions you may have so that you’re comfortable with your vote. Completed ballots must be returned to the ISL on or before January 15, 2016 for tabulation.
- Channel your inner Yoda! Use the Force (of your library skills) to educate and enlighten your fellow EI staff this spring. The Call for Proposals for presenters at the 2016 Annual Conference is open until December 31, 2015.
