Weekly Update — November 5-11, 2014
Due to the multiple state holidays in November 2014, we are combining issues and releasing off-cycle. We will return to our normal schedule on November 18, 2014.
It’s not really a tragedy
Circulation staff from around the state joined us for a spirited discussion of the many ways we see library materials get damaged. Whether it’s an overfull bookdrop or an adventurous pet, we all accept material damage as a daily reality in libraries. The Patron Services Committee will be working on defining a minimum material quality for consortially loaned materials this winter. Thanksgiving weekend is our selected timeframe for our next planned de-duplication and we have set a FULL cataloging freeze for November 27-30, 2014.
The 2.7 update will begin at 8pm EST December 23, 2014. We anticipate the servers will be available again on the 28th. If possible, we will bring things back online earlier. Please be sure to sign up for the Support mailing list to keep apprised of our progress. During this update window, the system will be completely unavailable, and you should use offline mode for any transactions.
Migration News
The Royal Center-Boone Township Public Library’s go-live is scheduled for December 2, 2014. There will be no cataloging freeze associated with this migration.
