Evergreen Indiana Annual Conference Program 2014

The 2014 Evergreen Indiana Annual Conference will be held on April 3-4, 2014. The conference will open on the evening of the 3rd with a keynote reception dinner (beginning at 6pm). The rates to participate this year are $65 for the full conference and $45 to participate exclusively in events on the 4th. Registration forms are available here: [Registration has closed.]

The conference will be held at the Wyndham Indianapolis West. We have reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate of $89 for the night of the 3rd. When you reserve your room, please be sure to mention that you will be attending the Evergreen Indiana Annual Conference to get your discount. Once the block is gone, rooms are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

On the 4th, we’ll begin at 9am. Our program calendar has been tentatively set as follows:

Administration Track

Executive Committee Meeting
The Executive Committee will be approving the slate of nominees for this year’s election, finalizing the bylaws amendment for the creation of a membership fee, and reviewing the upgrade results.

eContent Committee Meeting
The eContent group will discuss shared purchasing opportunities and the new eIndiana Digital Consortium’s Children and Teens’ interface.

Proposed: An Evergreen Indiana Membership Fee

Cleaning Up the Catalog

Learn how to leverage existing report templates to discover target records for updating, merging, and other clean-up projects. As we share interface and record information, we have a terrific opportunity to pool our talents to note and improve our holdings and MARC records with regular housekeeping projects. (1 TLEU)

Have other questions or concerns related to Patron Services issues, policies, or procedures? We’ll have an open discussion to bring these to light and evaluate our options.

Transiting and Holds Management

The backbone of our resource sharing plan is working with transits and holds directly in order to get the right materials into our patrons’ hands as quickly as possible. We will review best practices for identifying hold targets, capturing and preparing them for transit, and assisting patrons along the process. (1 TLEU)

Evergreen International Conference 2014 Wrap-up

The 2014 Evergreen International Conference was held last week in Boston. Evergreen Indiana had 6 representatives in attendance. We brought back a lot of news about upcoming development projects, learned about expanding and enhancing our own use of the existing features, and met with our enthusiastic and talented colleagues from all points geographical.
