Identifying your library district
As Evergreen continues to grow, libraries will find it increasingly important to spend time pulling resources together for training circulation staff on identifying the local library district and boundaries. Here are some resources readily available for training purposes.
• Staff Client map. From Splash Screen in staff client > Go to Locate Address in Map > Type in the Address in the Search box on the bottom of the screen. NOTE: This is not exact and is only current as of 2000 Census data so use this in conjunction with something else.
• Here is another interactive map which might help to identify your library district.
• Census bureau maps will help you identify down to the street number where your district ends.
1. Many libraries have such maps printed out and posted on the wall somewhere for easy reference.
eIndiana Digital OverDrive Consortium
The eIndiana Digital OverDrive Committee has voted to participate in the OverDrive Win Program beginning July 2, 2012. The WIN Program will add a Buy It Now link to titles in the eIndiana catalog which will allow users to easily purchase that title from an online ebook or audiobook vendor. A portion of the total sale made by the patron at the vendor website will be given back to the eIndiana Digital OverDrive Consortium for further collection enhancement.

Anticipated Return Date
To provide patrons with a rough idea of when their desired item might be available, the Anticipated Return Date field will be added to the Copy Summary display in an item record starting on August 1. It will be highlighted in bold red letters and link to an explanation of holds in Evergreen. NOTE: The screenshot below shows “Anticipated Due Date” but the live version will be “Anticipated Return Date.” The holds explanation will be as follows:
The “Anticipated Return Date” is the estimated date when an item is expected to be returned by the patron. Items are not guaranteed to be returned on the exact date displayed. The fastest way to receive the desired item is to place a hold.
Holds in Evergreen Indiana are filled based on proximity. In other words, the system will initially try to fill your hold request locally and then it will open the search to the consortium in general. You do not receive a number in the holds queue because your hold request could be filled at any time!
