Cataloging Procedures Guide Updates
Good afternoon, catalogers!
The Cataloging Committee met this morning and approved some updates to the procedures guide. Clarification was added to the 020 ISBN field to remind catalogers to remove eBook ISBNs from MARC records for physical material. We added a paragraph on the 776 Additional Physical Form Entry field to explain that while the 776 field is not required, it should not be deleted if it’s already present in the MARC record. 33x and 34x examples were added to the Playaways section as well as information on when adding multiple Edition Statements to a single bibliographic record is appropriate.
