Aspen Training Week!
We have introduced more granularity when it comes to our Aspen catalog staff roles in Evergreen Indiana. Previously, permissions were mixed between the administrative roles, so many staff were assigned permissions that they were not necessarily prepared to use. With the assistance of the Aspen subcommittee, we have launched new staff roles for libraries that are more clearly defined.
To better align with these new staff roles, a new form was created for Directors or their designees to complete. A huge thank you to Directors and their designees for filling out the new Aspen Staff Role form! If you have not done so yet, you can do so here. You can assign roles to as many staff needed to manage your catalog.
In addition to the new form, new training has been developed to focus on those specific staff roles. Our “Aspen Training Week” has been scheduled for Sept 21 – Sept 24. Staff will only need to attend (or watch the recording of) the training that they have been assigned. For example, if you are assigned the Catalog Admin (Super Cataloger), List Manager, and Content Admin roles, you will need to take “Content Administration,” “Managing Bib Records,” and “Lists for Library Staff” training.
We know that setting aside time to attend all of the required training can be difficult, so recordings will be available after the training week has completed.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Britta and she will be able to assist you.
NOTE!
If you are unsure your name has been submitted for any of the new staff roles, you can search for your name via this Google Spreadsheet. Please make sure you enter both your first name and last name.
