Cataloging Committee, Consortium Updates

Good afternoon!

Here are this week’s updates:

Update to Shared Cataloging Policy

On June 5, 2025, the Cataloging Committee recommended to the Executive Committee an amendment to the cataloging policy to include details about the “Cat3” profile type, now known as a “Limited Copy Cataloger.” This was approved by the EC on June 17.

Here is the amended section:

Limited Copy Catalogers (CAT 3)

Library staff obtaining this working profile type should be trained by a CAT 1 cataloger at their own or another library. Staff who receive this training may:

• Edit call number and item level data

Certified Copy Catalogers (CAT 2) 

Trainees may take the Basic Cataloging in Evergreen Indiana course or be trained by a CAT 1 cataloger at their own or another library.  Catalogers who receive this basic training are copy catalogers and may:

• Attach and delete holdings to/from existing bibliographic records
• Edit call number and item level data
• Create and edit monograph parts

Gale Legal Forms Subscription to End

On June 17, 2025, the Executive Committee voted to not renew the consortium’s Gale Legal Forms subscription. You’ll have access to our current subscription until August 31, 2025.  

2026 Membership Fee

The 2026 Evergreen Indiana membership fee has been posted on the evergreenindiana.org site. A link to the document can be found here.
