Ohio County’s Launch on June 10
Please help me welcome the Ohio County Public Library to the Evergreen Indiana Library Consortium! The library is a Class C library, located in Rising Sun, Indiana. They will launch as our 132nd member on Tuesday, June 10th.
Aspen Reindex to Occur This Weekend
As part of the migration of Ohio County into Evergreen, their bibliographic records and holdings will be imported into production. This also means that they will be imported into Aspen which will require a reindex to occur. The import will happen on Friday, June 6th. If a reindex does not occur automatically Saturday morning, I will force one to run beginning Sunday morning.
We do apologize for the short notice and will have a better notification timeline for future migrations.
Patron Services Committee Update
The Patron Services Committee approved the addition of a new procedure to the guide at their most recent meeting (June 3). This will allow multi-branch member libraries to limit transit-ability by circulation modifier between branches within their own system.
Here’s the new procedure and a link to the section in the guide:
Hold Limits for Multi-Branch Systems
While certain circulation modifiers disallow transits outside of a library’s system, it does not stop transit requests from another branch within the same system. This can be managed by creating a circulation modifier-specific hold policy that disallows any transit outside of the owning branch. Holds may still be placed with the pickup library set at the circulation library.
This will only be performed for collections that do not transit. If your library is interested in having this set up for a specific circulation modifier, please submit a helpdesk ticket.
