Viewing open transits

Using “List Open Transits” #

If you need a quick way to view all of the material marked as “in transit” to and from your library, use the List Open Transit function.

IMPORTANT! #

This function does NOT tell you when the item was picked up by the courier. The “Send Date/Time” column tells you when the item’s status changed to “In transit.”

You can access it through Circulation > List Open Transits.

Default View #

When you first open the transit list, it will always default to “Transits to” the selected library, and the current date.

The grid below will show items in a status of “in transit” between the start and end date.

Column Configuration #

Like many other areas of Evergreen, the Transit List is a good place to configure your columns. That way, you can see exactly want you want to see based on the function you are interacting with. See the “Configuring rows, columns, etc (AngularJS)” for more information on how to configure the grid.

Actions #

Add Items to Bucket #

To add items to an item bucket, checkmark one or more options from the grid. Click Add Items to Bucket and a window will pop up and ask you to select a bucket or create a new one.

Edit Item Attributes #

Selecting one or more items and then clicking on Edit Item Attributes will open the Holdings Editor in a new tab for each item checked. Please note that this function opens the older version of the Holdings Editor, and therefore may not act the same as the current version of the Holdings Editor.

Cancel Transit #

Before items that are in transit can be marked as “missing” or “lost”, the transit needs to be canceled. While viewing the transit list, select the item(s) you wish to to cancel, and then click Cancel Transit. Confirm the cancelation by clicking Cancel Transit when the window appears. To close the window without canceling, click Exit.

The item’s status will change to “Canceled Transit.” You can now mark it as missing.

Print Transits #

Similar to the Holds Pull List, there are two ways to print the transit list. Using the Print Transits button will print the list based on the template managed via Administration > Workstation > Print Templates > Transit List. To print the list based off of the visible columns, access the grid configuration menu and click Print Full Grid.

Using the Reports Module #

Alternatively, you can run a report using the reporter to pull a list of items that are in transit. Here is a list of useful report templates available via Shared Folders > EGIN-Admin-Reports > Cleaning Items :

  • Open Incoming Transits (includes returns)
  • Open Outgoing Transits (includes returns) sent between dates
