When you select from the drop down of a patron statistical category, you cannot unselect it. Thankfully, you can remove accidental patron stat cats from an account using User Buckets.

Add the account(s) to a User Bucket #
There are two ways to add a patron account to a user bucket: using “Pending Users” within the User Bucket module itself, or through the Patron Search function. To use “Pending Users” function, you will need the patron barcode. For Patron Search, you can use the patron barcode or name.
Using Pending Users #
You will need to open a bucket before you can add users to it. Select one from the drop down or create a new one.
Scan or enter the patron barcode into the Scan Card field.

Once you have entered all of the barcodes, select the rows and right click or go to the Actions menu and click on Add To Bucket.

Using Patron Search #
Search for the patron account by name, barcode, etc. You may wish to limit the search to your library system or branch. The downside to this option is you will need to search for each patron individually.

Select the correct result and click Add to Bucket. Select the bucket you wish to add the account to from the drop down.

If successful, a green toast message will appear at the bottom right corner of the window.

Batch Modify Statistical Categories #
Now that your patron accounts are in a user bucket, it is time to remove the erroneous stat cats from their accounts.
With the bucket open, click on Batch modify statistical categories. Since user buckets are used for batch editing, you do not have to select the accounts. Attempting to select individual accounts and then using the batch modifier will edit all of the accounts in the bucket.

Checkmark the Remove option next to one or more statistical categories. Click Apply Changes.

The screen will refresh. To view the change, access the patron account and check the Statistical Categories section at the bottom of the screen.

Please note that the list of statistical categories that appear with the batch modifier will change based on your library’s stat cat options.
